Collaborative ESG action between private sector, civil society, and local government
“We will continue to strengthen ESG management to build a healthier future.”

SK bioscience is reinforcing its ESG commitment through initiatives focused on environmental conservation and ecosystem restoration.
On June 17, the company announced that it had recently conducted environmental cleanup activities at the Tancheon Wetland Ecological Park in Seongnam. The efforts included removing invasive alien plant species and collecting litter along the riverside.
SK bioscience employees participated in the initiative alongside members of the Seongnam Chapter of the National Movement for Environmental Protection and the Seongnam Volunteer Center. This joint effort among a private company, civic group, and public organization is recognized as a meaningful example of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) in practice.
Participants removed invasive species such as ragweed, bur cucumber, and Japanese hop?which threaten local ecosystems?while collecting waste along the riverbanks. These efforts help restore native plant habitats and play a critical role in supporting urban biodiversity.
In addition to this initiative, SK bioscience continues to implement a range of eco-friendly programs. Near its vaccine manufacturing facility, L HOUSE in Andong, employees regularly engage in "plogging"-jogging while collecting trash. At its Pangyo headquarters, the company promotes family participation in ESG through a marine cleanup campaign called “Beachcombing.” The company also operates educational programs such as “eco-friendly kit-making” to enhance environmental awareness.
Jang Hyun-ja, Head of the Seongnam Volunteer Center, commented, “We sincerely appreciate the employees who volunteered despite the heat. This initiative stands out as a strong example of public-private ESG collaboration, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.”
Park Jong-soo, Head of Sustainability Management at SK bioscience, said, “Sustainable companies grow on the foundation of responsible environmental practices. As a company dedicated to delivering life-saving vaccines, we will continue to enhance our ESG initiatives to create a future where humanity and nature thrive together.”
SK bioscience plans to further expand initiatives spanning environmental protection, public health, and sustainability in collaboration with local communities. Through these efforts, the company aims to embed ESG into its corporate culture and accelerate its growth as a global vaccine and biopharmaceutical leader.
