Active immunization against diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis in adolescents and adults aged 10 to 64 years.
Passive protection against pertussis in early infancy following maternal immunization during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Adolescents and adults aged 10 to 64 years who have completed the primary series of pediatric DTP vaccination according to the recommended schedule during infancy and early childhood should receive a booster dose of this vaccine. Revaccination may be given at 10-year intervals.
However, in individuals who have received a booster dose of a diphtheria- and tetanus-toxoid-containing vaccine, administration of this vaccine should be avoided within 5 years of the previous vaccination to reduce the risk of adverse reactions.
The recommended dose is 0.5 mL administered as a single intramuscular injection. Do not administer intravascularly.
Shake well before use.
(Note: This vaccine should not be used for primary immunization in infants and young children. Infants and young children should receive pediatric DTaP vaccine according to the standard immunization schedule.)
